Try to notice today in your own experience that this term cruelty free is used a lot in society nowadays and it seems very nice if this was actually true, but it’s not. It’s mostly just an ego game being played with a new disguise.
I’m all for treating everyone better; people, animals, insects, and all other beings, but one is kidding themselves if they actually believe that they arent cruel. Survival is cruel! so just for you to be alive means that in one way or another you are being cruel to other life forms. Because you dont see it and are oblivious to it doesn’t mean that it’s not happening. You walk–you step on thousands of things, you breath–you suck in millions of organisms, you eat plants–you kill intelligent life as well.
The real question is how conscious are you in everyday life so that you can minimize how much you need for your own survival and therefore allow other conscious beings to survive as well.
An average person needs a lot of extras to survive because they are run by the mind and it always wants more and more. The mind builds its self up, and for truth you must tear it all off.
From a deeper level you are all of the happenings that are going on. So if you are eating a pig, you are eating yourself. If you are eating a plant, you are eating yourself. You are everything that is being and in each form you want to survive just as much as in your human form. Become more conscious of what you really are so that you can enjoy your time here in the physical life while allowing yourself in all the other forms to be as well, if possible.
Take some time in your life to notice that what creates you is creating everything else and its always been the case, you just believe that you are separate because you have never been able to go past the mind and only there lies unity and boundlessness.
It’s cool if you want to help be a voice for other creatures, but dont let that get to you head and allow your ego to build itself up once more. Allow awareness to reveal truth in all your endeavors.

Very well put! When you talk about the self being “all of the happenings” you remind me of Alan Watts. I love it that you are able to explain this concept so succinctly. I find it much harder to explain. (here is my attempt earlier this year… https://jofoxadventuresinart.wordpress.com/2020/01/17/the-art-of-diagrams-1-life-death-and-inbetween/ … to explain the same thing.)
Thanks for reading! I spent a lot of time meditating on and questioning “who am I?” and eventually was able to come to this realization. Alan Watts was a beautiful man 🙂 I will check out your work.
