Hydroponics is the process of growing plants in sand, gravel, or liquid, with added nutrients but without soil.
Why am I talking about Hydroponics? Because just like in most of my life, I have been fortunate to stumble into something really cool and that is running a hydroponics farm at the place of my work. I didn’t study this, or even have much of an interest in farming couple of years ago. I mean, I have spent a lot of time in nature and I made a conscious decision to eat plant based foods for 8 years now, so I have kind of taken the steps to growing my own food at some point it seems, but never would I have thought I would be doing it this way.
How did this happen? Well, I pretty much rarely say no, and you’d be surprised the experiences that you can have just by being open to trying new things. This was one of those times where I was asked if I would be interested in learning about vertical farming, and I was like for sure, why not. Who doesn’t want to learn a new emerging technology that is popping up all over the world, and I’ll get paid to do it, yes please!
