Make Your Own 5 Ingredient Natural Sun Block (Vegan)

Have you raised your awareness enough that you now care about what you eat and put on your body?

If so, then you would have probably noticed that much of the products that you have been used to using have at least a paragraph worth of ingredients and most of the items on the list are very unnecessary and harmful to your health.

One of the most difficult products that I had trouble finding was sun block that was made simply, but worked!  I spent around 6 to 8 hours in the sun daily as I was a tennis player/coach and that meant I needed something that was effective.  I looked at all the common brands of sun block and I would rather let the sun kill me, than lather all those chemicals all over my body.

I searched for a long time on things that could work, and were totally natural.  Here is what I have found that works for me:

Coconut Oil
Carrot Seed Oil
Raspberry Seed Oil
Vitamin E Oil
Cocoa Butter or Shea Butter

Melt about 1/4 cup of both Coconut Oil, Cocoa Butter or Shea Butter over very low heat and then add about 15/20 drops of each of the oils to the mixture.  Stir the mixture together and add to a small container with a lid and put to the fridge to harden.  If you want a more firm product you can also add some Carnauba (vegan) wax to the oil.  I personally don’t mind if it’s more liquidy then firm, works the same.  As I am a vegan, I rather not use beeswax.

Do a test run and apply to your body as needed.  Reapply often if you stay in the sun for long periods of time.

Alter this recipe by adding natural scented oils to add smell or tweaking any of the ingredients that don’t work well with your body.    The carrot seed oil and raspberry seed oil have high spf so keep that in mind if you are planning to remove those.
